A unified operating platform
One system of record for a field-heavy, multi-brand business.
Systems designData platformCanonical schema
Many systems, one canonical record
The problem
A fast-growing, multi-brand operation runs on a patchwork of systems. Each brand and department keeps its own version of the truth, so the same customer, job, or number means different things in different tools, and every new integration makes the tangle worse.
The idea
Model the business once. A single canonical schema that every brand and system resolves to, fed by a mapping layer, so new capability is an addition to a coherent whole instead of another island. This is in build right now.
What I built
- A canonical schema that models the business once, the single shape every brand and system resolves to.
- A mapping layer syncing 25 brands across 6 different source systems into that one canonical model.
- A distribution layer that feeds the canonical record back out to the apps that run on it, three today and growing.
Impact
- In build now: 25 brands across 6 systems reconciling into one clean, canonical data model.
- A single consolidated model, built to be the foundation for reporting and BI across the business.
- Designed to feed three downstream systems today, and to keep adding more without re-plumbing.
